The New Machine Shop at Dynamic Machine Corporation
October 30, 2008We're extremely proud of our new machine shop at Dynamic Machine Corporation of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
For many years at Dynamic it's been a staff dream to expand our work space to allow us to handle larger and more intricate projects safely and efficiently. Recently we've achieved our dream and nearly doubled the size of our work shop to 30,000 square feet which makes it one of the biggest workspaces in western Canada.
Sometimes Bigger is Better!
The increase in size means that Dynamic Machine can continue to do what it does best; building, repairing and rebuilding machinery for organizations of all sizes. Over the decades we've worked for companies like Vale Inco, the Royal Canadian Mint, the University of Manitoba Engineering Department, Cubex and the Canadian National Railway. For us the new shop means we can accept more challenging contracts.
Since our company started operations we've worked for a lot of industries; construction and demolition, pulp and paper mills, hard and soft rock mining companies, steel mills, general contractors and hydro-electric dams. Basically if it involves engineering and machining our machine shop does it – align boring, creating Babbitt bearings, custom gear cutting, custom machining, dynamic rotor balancing, grinding with computer numerical control lathes, industrial machining, MIG/TIG/Spray welding services, millwright services, portable milling, straightening, vibration analysis – the list is endless.
And the new shop means we can do our work that much more efficiently.
Specific Features of the Machine Shop
- Overhead cranes to handle weights up to 30 tons safely and efficiently.
- A drive-through bay to allow tractor trailers to bring equipment directly onto the work floor and that's a tremendous savings in time.
- We've tied the machine shop into our online parts inventory which means we know exactly where everything is all the time.
Our Staff Commitment
Even though the machine shop has changed that doesn't mean we've changed our commitment to service. We believe mentoring and education are the keys to making and keeping great employees and that's a commitment we continue to honour. And we know that the experience level of our staff means that our people are the best around. Currently our staff consists of 30 - 40 trained and experienced workers, all backed with support systems designed to ensure the best possible service for our clients.
And we still provide the same services just like we've always done at Dynamic Machine.
We still design and repair hydraulic systems and we still have one of the largest selections of hydraulic parts in Canada. And Dynamic Machine still sells and repairs compressors, pneumatic systems and provides and repairs hoses for a variety of purposes.
